About Haley Warden

Im a Texas-based artist and multidisciplinary artist whose work explaores gothic symbolism, mythology, and the darker beauty of the natural world. My paintings incorporate themes of transformation, ritual, and emotional power found within shadow work and dreams.

Alongside my studio practice, I teach yoga and meditation through Threshold Studio, where I focus on grounding, mobility, and reconnecting the body through yoga and mindful practice.

I am also an active competitor in buhurt, a full-contact medieval combat sport. Training and competing with my team Austin Blood Guard has deeply influenced my relationship with strength, resilience, and physical awareness - elements that often inform both my art and my movement practice.

I currently hone my artistic training through the Milan Art Institute while developing my body of work and exhibiting through galleries, events, and my physical booth, The Wardens Vault, located at the Round Rock Antique Gallery.

My Story

Art has always been a constant in my life.

Growing up, creativity was simply a part of the environment around me. My family includes musicians, florists, seamstresses, dancing, and painting. My grandmother introduced me to watercolor painting when I was young, and from that moment forward painting felt natural; something I returned to again and again.

I pursued art through high school and briefly attended the Academy of Art University as a Fine Arts major before life shifted in new directions. Becoming a mother changed my path in many ways, but the drive to create and inspire never disappeared. Instead, it slowly grew stronger over time.

Years later, I returned to painting with renewed focus and commitment. Today, I continue developing my work through the Milan Art Institute, building a body of work centered on symbolism, mythology, and emotional atmosphere.

Outside of the studio, I am deeply involved in buhurt, a full-contact sport where fighters compete in steel armor with historically accurate (though blunted) weapons. Training in this environment demands endurance, discipline, and resilience, and it has shaped my understanding of both physical strength and personal transformation.

Movement has become an important counterpart to my creative work. Through yoga and meditation, I explore balance, recovery, and mindfulness, practices that eventually led to the creation of Threshold Studio, my space for teaching movement and grounding practices.

Today, my life moves between studio work, armored combat training, teaching, and continued exploration of creative disciplines. Each of these experiences feeds the others, shaping the imagery, symbolism, and emotional depth that appear in my paintings.

Art, for me, is not separate from life.... It grows directly out of it.
